    Dive Guide

    The Dive Guide program is the first step on an exciting journey. Learn to safely lead certified divers in various environments and conditions.

    Facts and Training Standards

    By giving dive briefings, doing site evaluations, and leading dives, you will become a confident Dive Guide in no time. Begin your diving career working as a Professional Dive Guide or continue the qualifications for Divemaster.

  • Assistant Instructor

    Assistant Instructor

    The Assistant Instructor rating is the next step after becoming a Divemaster along the scuba instructor pathway.

    It allows you to collect valuable teaching experience, practice briefings, teach academics, and conduct in-water training. If you want to further your career as a dive professional, you can finish the Instructor Training Course, pass the Instructor Evaluation, and become an Open Water Diving Instructor.

  • Open Water Instructor

    Open Water Instructor

    You need to be a Divemaster or equivalent to join SSI´s 3-Step Instructor Training Approach. The training process starts with joining the Assistant Instructor / Instructor Training Course combination accompanied with Digital Learning.

    This 10 day training program entitles you to teach various key SSI programs independently like Scuba Diver, Open Water Diver, Enriched Air Nitrox, Diver Stress & Rescue and Dive Guide.

  • Specialty Instructor

    Specialty Instructor

    Becoming an SSI Specialty Instructor is easy. Continue your diving education as an instructor by enrolling in a Specialty Instructor Seminar for each of the diving specialties you would like to teach.

    Alternatively, you can co-teach the specialty you are interested in with an experienced Specialty Instructor or request a Verification Application of your experience and send it directly to SSI. Teach more specialties to automatically earn the Advanced Open Water Instructor certification.

    SSI Instructor Trainers are qualified to teach the Instructor Training Course (ITC) and prepare ITC candidates for their Instructor Evaluation (IE). Instructor Trainers can also teach Specialty Instructor Seminars and the Assistant Instructor Trainer program.

    In the SSI Gas Blender Instructor course, you will learn all you need to organize and conduct both the Nitrox and Trimix Gas Blender courses, which provide custom mix gases for technical diving.
