Dive Safely

A diver who understands the correct use of all appropriate open water diving equipment, is able to dive safely in confined water conditions, and is ready to gain open water experience under the supervision of an experienced diver.

Prerequisites

Course Content

Knowledge

Participants should have a basic understanding of:

The relationship between pressure and volume and their effects on the diver and diving equipment.
The human body’s requirements to sustain life and the physiological challenges that can occur when underwater.
The purpose, function, and key characteristics of the scuba diving equipment used during the course, as well as its correct use.
Safe diving practices, self-rescue techniques, and basic rescue procedures.
No-decompression diving techniques.

Skills

The diver should:

Be fully familiar with and competent in the use of scuba diving equipment at all depths.
Be able to control movement in all directions, use fins effectively and efficiently, and safely enter and exit the water.
Be able to perform self-rescue techniques and basic buddy rescue techniques.
Be able to act as a member of a dive team while diving under supervision and demonstrate the required discipline.
As a CMAS Greece One Star Diver (E.O.U.D.A.T.K.), have completed a minimum of 5 open water dives.
