Dive Safely

A diver who has gained experience through open water diving and is considered ready to participate in dives accompanied by a diver of at least the same or a higher certification level.

A Two Star Diver may dive with a One Star Diver in shallow, confined water conditions.

Prerequisites

Must be at least 15 years old
Must hold a CMAS Greece One Star Diver (E.O.U.D.A.T.K.) certification or equivalent.
No specific number of dives is required to begin the course.
Must have completed a minimum of 20 open water dives at the time of certification, with at least 10 dives conducted at depths between 10 and 30 metres.
Each dive must have a minimum duration of 20 minutes, with a maximum of 2 dives per day.

Course Content

Knowledge

Participants should have a basic understanding of:

Diving physics and physiology, including the causes, consequences, and effects of diving-related illnesses and disorders.
Basic first aid and life-saving techniques.
Problems associated with medium-depth diving, air consumption calculations, and the correct use of decompression tables.
Dive site selection and the principles of dive planning.
The principles and practices of underwater navigation and orientation.
Upon completion of the course, the diver must hold a valid Basic Life Support (CPR) certification from DAN or an equivalent first aid organisation certification that covers the above requirements.

Skills

Be competent in the use of a mask, fins, and snorkel.
Be able to swim on the surface while wearing full scuba diving equipment.
Be fully familiar with the use of scuba diving equipment during medium-depth dives.
Be competent in self-rescue and buddy rescue techniques at depths of up to 30 metres.
Be familiar with the use of buoyancy control equipment.
Be able to use decompression tables for simple and repetitive dives.
Be competent in practical underwater navigation and orientation techniques.
